quick stop at Fjaðrárgljúfur, a lovely little gorge near the guesthouse
drove back to Vik
joined the Arctic Adventures ice cave under the volcano tour - Katla caldera.
with stephan, the 17 year old driver, his first day on the job

not really, he was spectacularly good at what he did - found new and interesting ways to throw the vehicle around
oh, the vehicle?
this.

It wasn’t the only one…

lovely ice caves
crampons and helmet
beautiful structures in the ice
a bit of inforamtion about katla - 100km^2 caldera, quite overdue
expected (as it’s full of glacier) to create ~6x amazon river water flow
will add a few km of coastline

If we stopped every time we saw some incredible scenery, we’d literally never leave. But we did stop a few times. :)

<3 my super strong gf for walking up to Svartifoss, the basalt column waterfalls which inspired the Hallgrímskirkja church in Reykjavik
quite the walk, my knees are aching and I’m glad I bought and brought some walking sticks, I think I’d be (more of) a cripple right now
stopped at iceberg lagoon
need sleep
house on the hill
lovely place, cooked pasta in the microwave :)
